in which i abandon another tumblr

i am starting something new. not following anyone i know in real life.

i will not be totally anonymous. in fact, i will be myself much more consistently than i usually am. i will have no problem if it is found organically by my friends, or even if they care enough to go looking.

bye old tumblr. sorry i spent so much time on you being uninspired and ornery.

aiusayouth:

On January 11, 2012, Amnesty International student groups traveled from far and wide for one cause: to advocate against the indefinite detention and unfair trials that have been happening for10 years in Guantanamo Bay. Over 800 activists made their voices heard loud and strong in front…

Saw the Teenie Harris exhibition yesterday. He was basically the August Wilson of photography. They called him “One Shot” because of how, due to financial restraints, he always managed to capture a perfect image in one shot.
This one is SO GOOD.

Please watch and REBLOG this satirical short film about indefinite detention, torture, Islamophobia, Guantanamo, the “war on terror”. Ten years after 9/11 this remains the new normal that we live in, and there’s nothing funny about it.
But humor can be powerful — so we at Amnesty International USA invite you to check out our new short video “Happy World Travel”, featuring Dileep Rao (Avatar, Inception). What happens when a normal dude named Rob (or is it Raj?!) heads to a travel agency looking for a relaxing vacation? Will he be eligible for the “Not-so Geneva Package”? Could Rob’s story be yours if we continue to allow the US to flout the rule of law?
What can you do? Join us on January 11th in Washington, DC for a day of action to close Guantanamo: http://www.amnestyusa.org/jan11
And visit Amnesty International USA’s Security with Human Rights campaign to learn more about ending torture and indefinite detention, once and for all: http://www.amnestyusa.org/security

I’m going to the day of action! Are YOU?
